 Easy Tarot Guide
Marcia Masino
This is our favorite book on the Tarot. Marcia Masino offers the aspiring Tarot reader a full introduction to many aspects of the cards. While many books ignore or glance over the symbolism, Ms. Masino delves into it with her lush explanations of the subtle details one can often miss while studying the Tarot. Her meanings range from the metaphysical to the practical, and the use of Tarot in Divination is fully explored. For the beginning students of Tarot, the best offering of Easy Tarot Guide is the series of tests given at the end of each chapter, designed to give the reader a comprehensive knowledge of the cards. A must have! - Buy It!

 Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom
Rachel Pollack
While Easy Tarot Guide may be our favorite, this classic work is a close second. A complete but concise guide to the origins, meaning and psychological applications of the Tarot, this book's aim is to demystify and to make Tarot symbolism an effective and accessible means of self-enlightenment. Recently combined from two volumes, the age-old wisdom enshrined in both the Major and Minor Arcana of the Tarot is here analyzed with considerable skill in relation to contemporary psychological disciplines. With primary reference to the Rider-Waite deck, this book offers an authoritative and pertinent guide to Tarot wisdom. The author also offers many illuminating insights into the complex and subtle nature of Tarot divination, and how to perform Tarot readings. - Buy It!

 The Crowley Tarot
Akron - Hajo Banzhaf
The Thoth Tarot deck, painted by Lady Frieda Harris in the early 1940's under the direction of Aleister Crowley, famed ritual magician and occultist, is one of the most mysterious and symbolically rich entries into the library of available decks. The authors of this book seek to explore the Thoth deck and its symbolism through thought provoking interpretations of the cards on several different levels: profession, relationships, consciousness, and the people around us. There are several books written about this version of the Tarot, with its esoteric symbolism and veiled meanings, but this book has been among the most successful at identifying the hidden meanings behind the often confusing imagery. It is usually very serious students of the Tarot who work with this deck, and it is often used more for magic and meditation than for readings, but we recommend this wonderful and well-researched book as a starting point if the Thoth deck is the one you choose. - Buy It!

Tarot and Astrology : The Pursuit of Destiny
Muriel Bruce Hasbrouck
This synthesis of the ancient mysteries goes beyond astrology and Tarot to shed new light on the eternal question of personal destiny. The author examines the conditioning factors of time and birthdate and reveals a ten-day cycle formula that will help you understand yourself and others with amazing accuracy. Muriel Hasbrouck has given the full story, with documentation, of the origin of the Tarot. In one of the many links between her formula and the mysterious teachings of antiquity, each of the thirty-six ten-day cycles of the solar year has been keyed to a particular card in the Tarot deck. Incorporated in this formula are the factors of number, the four elements, the planets, and the sun. Taken together with the Tarot, they uncover the positive, negative, and balancing qualities of our characters and reveal our individual response to the basic challenges of life more personally and exactly than calculations based on the twelve signs of the zodiac. A full report of source material is given by the author as well as the logical links that exist between certain fundamentals of ancient birthdate theories and some of the most recent discoveries of modern biology, psychology, and physics. Tarot and Astrology represents a unique key to success and happiness wish anyone can apply with confidence. - Buy It!

 Tarot in an Evening
Nova Starr
Recently, I took the time to listen to this audio course on Tarot. It is the only one of its kind that I know of and thus a pioneer in the field. Overall, it's quite nice, offering descriptions and symbology for each of the 78 cards in the Tarot, explained in a way to get the reader quickly started on the path to Tarot. By "in an evening," the authors mean that on your first listen, your brain will be geared to the understanding of Tarot that some students take years to attain. I agree with this because the CD forces you to go through each card, where many books make it easy to skip around. I recommend several listens to get your brain acquainted with the subject. For those who understand Witchcraft as a Science, listen to this recording while in your alpha state and you'll grasp it even faster. From there, move on to some of the other fine Tarot books in this bookshoppe to explore the symbols even deeper. This CD can also be played during sleep, when your brain is naturally in alpha or theta level, which will allow you to absorb it even more deeply. The author does not used reversed meanings, which is also the method that we prefer, and delves deeply into the symbols and emotions identified with each card. In future versions, we'd like to see a subtle music accompanying in the background, and also see each suit and the Major Arcana broken up into individual tracks instead of the two tracks current on the recording. Aside from these two minor drawbacks, this CD is definitely worth a look, and will help you reinforce the wisdom of the Tarot through your auditory senses! - Buy It!
